When placing an order on a Pay in 4 Plan, PayBright places a temporary authorization in the amount of your first payment to confirm your payment method. This is only a hold on the funds, and will appear on your bank statement as a "pending" transaction until the order ships.
In some cases, the order may not be finalized by the retailer even after agreeing to your Pay in 4 Plan. If you don't receive an order confirmation from the retailer, PayBright will automatically release the authorization.
Purchases made on Visa/MasterCard-Debit cards
If you used a Visa/MasterCard-Debit card as your payment method, the authorization may show as a "debit" or an actual charge on your bank statement. If the order was not finalized by the merchant for any reason, you will see this charge either reversed, credited (refunded), or completely disappear from your statement.
When is the authorization released?
All authorizations for orders that have not been finalized should be released within 5-10 days, depending on your card issuer. If you are still seeing a pending transaction or a charge beyond this date, please contact us and we will happily look into it for you!
Please note that if you have attempted the transaction multiple times, you may see multiple authorizations on your bank statement. Any authorizations for unsuccessful orders are released on the same day and should reflect on your statement within 10 days.
